Vida Aquatica a series of mixed media watercolor and paper collage. The aquatic composition and Folokloric theme were inspired by a need to revisit my daughters first years. A time when the two of us would hear narratives and learned dances relevant to Yemanja, the Brazilian goddess of the sea. Watercolor seemed like the appropriate medium as birth, motherhood and rites of passage are often accompanied with the salty tears of a mother and may her watery sea creatures of the fantastical realm protect and guide her magic always✨🌊✨
